The Malta International Airport (MLA) is located southwest of Valletta.  It is sometimes referred to as the Luqa Airport or Valletta Airport.

The airport is the hub for Air Malta and is also an important base for the discount airline, Ryan Air.

Direct flights to Malta Airport are available from London Gatwick, Frankfurt, Rome Fiumicino, London Heathrow, Manchester Airport, Munich Airport, London Luton and Paris Orly.
