Malta Travel Guide
Manoel Island is a small landmass located off the Maltese capital of Valletta. It is situated in the Marsamxett Harbour, the body of water located to the north of Valletta.
A fort was built on the island by the Portugues between 1723 and 1755. It is today considered to be a marvel of 18th century military engineering.
During the second World War, Manoel Fort was used as a navy base by the Royal Navy.
